Check Engine Light And Throwing 2 Codes
my 2006 cummins all of the sudden has a check engine light this morning upon startup, I pop my hood and check all wire connections on my m3 as the manual said a bad connection could cause this, still the light was on, so i check for codes, i get P0191 and P0513. I have no clue what do twith these codes but i figured someone on here might. the truck seems to be running normal. I am going to be doing alot of drivng soon so any help would be greatly appreciated! also should i just take the m3 out completely to see if the light and codes go with it? it has been on for awhile and no problems then outa nowhere i get this. thanks guys/girls.

from what i've read the 0191 is a common code. dodge knows about it and they don't have a fix but replacing the regulator/sensor (if under warranty) but most of the time the code pops back up on it's own. the 0513 seems to come up when someone tries to crank the truck with a key that isn't chipped for the truck's ecm.... i'd say take it in to the dealer if under warranty if not clear them out and see if they come back.
that's the opinion of a 12valver...... take it as you will...

so you dont think it has anything to do with the programmer? should i remove the m3 if i take it in? will they be able to find it in there and say that those codes were caused by it? you have to unhook the stock fuel rail plug and plug it in to the wiring harness for the m3 i was just wondering if maybe something there was causing the code? but then i thought if that were the case wouldnt it have shown up immediately upon installing the programmer? any advice would be great . the 1st code wont hurt my truck will it? or well either of them? how would one clear the codes out ? thanks

it is under warrenty but im afraid they dont look to kindly upon bombing so therein lies my problem. i just wonder if i should uninstall it and then take it in, would i have to download the factory settings back to the programmer first or does the truck go stock as soon as you take it off?

Yep, you'll have to return the ECM back to stock. If you don't and they flash the ECM, you'll be in a world of hurt. They'll be able to tell there was something on it via 2 codes. One from the RP sensor and the other from the MAP sensor. I can thank a tech for pointing that out to me.
