MY f250 has 130000 miles on it. I use it daily(a lot of short runs). I just got a P0401 engine code. What is the latest theory on the EGR valve? I have heard people say they replace the old valve with an updated one and others delete it with a kit. The truck runs fine. I lost about 2 miles per gallon. What is the theory on this and what valve is the best as a replacement? The NAPA store wants $170 for a new one(not sure if it is a direct Ford replacement) the internet has them for $60.
