Hey guys,
Just drove 900 Miles yesterday and noticed if I try to push the truck (not towing) to 80mph the motor starts to miss around 2200rpm and puffs white smoke. After playing around with it more it seems to be something related to full throttle high rpm operation. With the truck parked I can get it to do the same thing in second gear if I floor it from a stop. Boost goes to 30psi then as it gets closer to the governor defuels and then kinda falls on its face and boots drops to 15psi and it pours white smoke till I let off the throttle a little. Seems like it is low on power, but only noticeable when you are giving it a lot of throttle. Other than that it starts and drives fine under normal conditions. I'm towing a 10,000lb trailer back to Houston tomorrow so I need to figure this out today. I'm heading to auto zone to borrow a fuel pressure gauge now? Suggestions on what to check/what it could be?
