My 88 Ford E350 1 ton 7.3L Diesel threw a tired tread which bent my exhaust pipe and pinched it off. The van stalled out before I came to a stop. After fixing the tire and bending the talipipe back into place the van was hard to start and would idle without stalling. Thw next morning it would not start at all. Any advice? I am currently stuck on Route 66 near Barstow, CA. HELP!!!

 

I'm wondering if the tire tread could have damaged a fuel line,causing air to get into the fuel system. You should get a deeper look around where the tread came off to see if other damage happened.

 

It damaged the pump. I am getting good fuel pressure after the filter but none at the injector. Going to test Fuel shutoff Switch this morning. If that doesn't work I'm taking the pump back today.
