help trucks been down for a month an im running out of hair to pull out
hi
I have a 96 chevy 2500
Detroit 6.5 turbo diesel
215,000 miles had it for 1 year
I was driving won day an stopped at the store left the truck running. I got back in the truck an pulled out went about 1/2 a mile. Then at that time the truck started speeding up on it's own. An I had no control over my gas peddle. An the peddle hasn't worked since. My truck just sits there and kind of lopes but it's hitting 4000 to 5000 rpm over an over again
So I changed the peddle an nothing changed. I went an bout a new PMD after that am the truck wont start at all. I would put the old won back on an it would start but would do the same as before. the old PMD would get so hot it put a burned my hand. An it gets that hot every time its running.
Now the truck wont start with the old won. It still gets vary hot when turning the key over. When it is turning over it sounds like its not getting fuel but I'm sure that the old PMD just burned up.
So now I'm lost please help need to be roiling coal again

I have no clue about this motor but if the part you replaced and had no fire from it then if it is a controller /computer/ it may have to be programmed by the dealer first, not all brain boxes are pre programed. Hope this helps
