Default strange squeling noise lower passenger side

ok this morning i was headed to work and the truck started making a high pitched squeling noise which from what i can tell is coming from the lower passenger side. it also had a pretty rank smell.

im hoping its maybe just a turbo blown but there really isnt much smoke and wiggling the intake side there is some play but i dont know if i would call it excessive. this is also on my 06

can anbofy help?

Sounds like a partially engaged ac clutch or a bad bearing in one of the accessories. If it is turbo its the turbine or compressor contacting the housing. I think i would pull the drive belt and restart the truck. If the sounds gone check each accessory until you find it.

You could put a 2x2 or something similar on the cartridge of the turbo, put your ear to it. That should give you an idea where the noise is coming from. With the truck off can you move the compressor wheel in a way that makes the wheel touch the housing or that makes it hard to turn?

ok after thinking some more i pressed and released the cluch while running and the sound changed pitch. So thankfully im not looking at motor related bearings but now im thinking throwout bearing or maybe a dmf failure. or any other suggestions?
