Default No Brakes

hey yall, i'm having a problem with my front brakes. i put new pads and calipers on last night and the right side wont pump up and tighten up to the rotor. i'm getting fluid to the caliper cause i cracked open the bolt and fluid is squirting out, so there is pressure to the caliper. i tryied the new caliper and the old one and niether will pump up. any thoughts?

That sounds like a stuck caliper piston. Pull it back apart and check to see if it moves in and out freely without binding. It wont be easy and you would probably need a c-clamp to do it.

He has tried two calipers and has the same problem now. Brandon did you make sure and install the copper washer when you installed the new caliper? You could have got a bad caliper also though.

Change your brake hoses....they tend to break down inside and cause the calipers to stick/lockup

I was thinking the same thing but he can get preasure to the caliper its jus not allowing the caliper to move.

How about air still in the lines. This could still show fluid at the caliper to leak out but air bubbles in the line itself would prevent pressure from building high enough to move the calipers.

But if this is on the 95 in your sig and these are stock brake lines it is deffinately time for new ones. I went with stainless steel lines in mine and it was amazing how much brake feel I had after that and how much less brake pressure it took to stock. Those old lines must have been acting like balloons under there.

at first i couldnt get the right side to pump up, then i thought that maybe i should start the truck and what do ya know it pumped up and i could bleed them. still need to bleed them some more and probably need to replace my rubber lines too. just need another weekend to do everything. got new rotors that i slotted that i want to put on and also i noticed the right axle u-joint needs to be replaced. i just cant afford to have my truck down for much longer than a weekend and i need the weather to cooperate too. i'm worried that i'm gonna get into the problem of twisting hard lines when i try to get the rubber lines off which means more down time. oh well, it will all come around eventually. thanks guys

I got my Stainless lines from the place linked below. They aren't the cheapest out there but when they show up they are ready to put right in place, fit perfectly to all the fittings and lengths needed for your truck and comes with all the lines needed for the whole braking system. It makes the install so much easier and quicker like this. We did the whole set in just a few hours.

EGR Performance Brakes, brakes for Dodge, Ford, Chevy, GMC, Tahoe, Yukon, Excursion, Dakota, Durango or whatever you drive.
