Default ITALIAN ROOKIE!!!

Hello BOMBERS,
my name is Marco and i'm writing from Monza,Italy...
I'm a "crazy lover" of any kind of made in u.s.a. pick up truck, and i'm an ex '98 chevy stepside (gas powered...) owner...
Chevy truck sold for... a nissan GT-R!!!

But the trucks are always in my heart,so i'm thinking about a "new" one...
Actually i don't know when,where... but i know what i want: diesel,4wd,reg. cab and... DUALLY!!!

My favorite is the DODGE RAM 3500,but i like chevy & fords too...

The HEAVY problem is this: here in Italy the u.s.a. trucks are almost unknown, and the few ones you can find are 99% old and gas powered... diesels are hard to find and dualies are IMPOSSIBLE to find!!!

Maybe there's something available in germany, but the price tag is always excessive...

I'm wondering if i've to buy the truck direct in u.s.a. and import it in europe by myself...

Ok,ok,i've bored enough!!!

I'm glad to be here in this community,i'm sure i'll find all the answers i need...

Thx & ciao from Italy!!!
Marco.

P.S.: sorry for my TERRIBLE language... probably your italian is better than my english!!!

First welcome to DB!!!!

Well to answer you questions I'm sure it will be just as expensive to buy a truck here in the US and ship in to Italy then it would be to buy it on Germany. What yr exactly are you looking for? I know that a container will run between $4000-6000 US plus the cost of a truck then import tax plus what ever taxes you will have to pay in Italy. Good luck let us know what yr you would like and I'm sure we can get some prices together for ya.

Marco,

Get an EARLY 1998! This will have the 12 valve engine and will also have the 4 door Quad cab body. The later 98's were 24 valves and anything earlier than 98 will only have 2 doors on it.

The 12 valve will get you better mileage and be a LOT more durable because the VP7100 injection pumps are better.

Marco - I buy and sell trucks and equipment and would be glad to find you something and help you get it to Italy!!!

I'm a former trucker and have done some International shipping too. The last time I shipped a car (to Australia) the container cost the guy $2500 - NOT 6 grand.

You can email me directly at: pbbm@comcast.net ................and buy the way...........I thought your English was much better than some of these American text message nuts, who insist on abbreviating every other word they write!!!!!

Sincerely,

Phil in Illinois

The last guy I talked to he was buying cars in the us and shipping them to Denmark he was paying around $4500 a container. He could get 2-3 cars in a container. I think he was using a 40' container as well

Containers, like semi trailers, come in different lengths.

marco, i heard you were driving some big boat and put it down on it's side.

Now you're looking for a truck to get out of dodge.

Hello BOMBERS,
thx for all welcome & advice replies!!!

I want to explain all my necessity...
I want a dually truck, but the "smallest" (if a dually can be... SMALL!!!) possible...
Due to italian roads,a reg cab is already too large!!!

And i need a not too old truck... like '06 or newer...
Due to italian restrictive laws, the truck must be DPF (or any other anti pollution device...) equipped...
And a "new" truck is... lower mileage, best equipped, modern drivetrain (like a 6 speed auto trans, for example)...

Last but not least... the price tag!!!
Here in europe (in italy are impossible to find!!!) i've found something...
But 30k euros (near 40k usd...) for a '03 dodge with 100k miles on the clock is too much!!!
Ok,it's a 4 door,22'' alloys,lifted,incredible stereo & navi unit...
But with a quick search on autotrader u.s.a. i can find a '08 ram,dually,6.7,reg cab, 20k miles for 30k usd!!!
Add 4-5 k usd for shipping in europe...
add taxes & fees...

mmmm...

I don't know,really...

Ok,i'm not in a hurry.
so i can take aal the time i need to search, find and... FOLLOW THE DIESEL BOMBERS ADVICES!!!
Stay tuned,i'll keep you updated...

Ciao,
Marco.

Good luck in your search.
and rodbuilder,it's a p7100,not a vp7100.
