Default 2001 Ram 2500 4x4 Cummins...How much should I pay?

A diesel mechanic friend of mine is selling an extremely well maintained 2001 Ram 2500 4x4 diesel club cab fully loaded with leather. It has a few very small rust spots (Michigan truck) and a very easy 111,000 miles. The truck has many extras including a programmer, auto meter gauges and $7000 into the tricked out tranny. He's also quieted the truck down by 10 decibels. This truck has too many things to list and even more that I can't appreciate as this would be my first diesel truck ever. He's asking $16000 and I trust the guy completely but I just wanted some input based on what I've listed. Thanks

it sounds like a VERY nice truck though! if you get a diesel you will love it

but be careful because i bought my F350 from a "friend", now we are no longer friends after i found out he lied about things he did to the truck and i had to spend $2,000 to get it corrected

$16k is too much for an 01 model.
remind your "friend" that you rarely
get out, what you put into a truck.

i would offer maybe $9k - $10k and
see what happens. also, keep your
eye out, you can always buy a cheaper
truck and mod it yourself. that way,
you know whats been done to it.

What these guys stated before is accurate also receipts prove everything your friend says, it would suck to have a " built" trans and go off and do mods to the truck and the trans goes after you dropped a big stack of bills for it.
