Default Introduction and Question

My name is Anthony. I am in the Army right now. I have a 1997 Chevy K2500 with the 6.5 TD. Right now I am having a couple problems but my biggest one is my truck wont start. I went to start it 2 nights ago when it was 8 degrees out. It cranked the first time but I let my glow plugs cycle a couple times and after that it stopped cranking. The rod shoots out on the starter but it doesnt spin. I dropped the starter yesterday and had it tested at Advance Auto Parts. The guy tested it five times and it tested fine. So I put it back in and tried it again and the same thing, the rod shoots out but doesnt crank the engine. I was also able to turn the engine with a small screw driver. It turned very easily. I also replaced the starter relay and it does the same thing. I need help big time. Please some one give me some advise!!!
