duramax fuel filter removal
There has got to be an easier way to remove the fuel filter on my 2005 Silverado 2500HD Duramax. Has any one used a KD #3149 strap filter wrench? Looks like it would allow you to loosen it from the top since it stays close to the filter in the space available.

I just bought a 2005 Silverado 2500hd 2wd Duramax with 202k miles. It is a work truck with roll up windows and no carpet. Runs strong. Has long bed and extended cab. I got it to put a slide in camper in it and pull my boat. It is my big diesel as I have a 1991 VW Jetta 1.6 eco diesel with a turbo. I like diesels. While visiting family in Norway I noticed there are so many more diesels there, cars, vans and trucks. Diesel is cheaper than gas there and they are taxed on horsepower so diesel is more economical. I do most of my work myself and like to get advice from others that have already figured out how to do it. My father was a mechanic who made alot of his own tools when he needed one. Tjorve is the name of my Father's hometown and my last name on my birth certificate, long story.

I just replaced my fuel filter on my 2005 duramax and it was easy. I used a strap type oil filter wrench I got at Oreillys, Pennzoil brand that cost $10. It enabled me to twist it from on top. Didn't need to remove fender liner.
