Just bought my sixth diesel truck, fifth Dodge with a Cummins. This one has the 6.7L in a 2008 Mega cab 4x4. I have joined to learn what, when, and how to improve the 6.7L. I am most looking to improve mpg then hp. I have been reading on many forums and there is many ways to skin the cat and for various end results. I want the best, most solid, and longevity methods done to my truck.
I will be doing many mods to the truck beside the engine but I want to start there. Then the tranny. I am not going to make a monster truck out of it, just a good looking mild off road performer. I'll be hauling hay and my dozer around as far as work or load on the truck.
I totaled my 06 Duramax and am going back to a Cummins. The Duramax had mucho hp, but the best mpg I could get was 16mpg at 70 mph on the freeway. I had only one 5.9 that could not get to 20 mpg, thus I have returned for another try . I'll be asking a lot of questions and about results.
