thanks to all who contribute to make diesel bombers a reality.
iv'e been cruising a 300sd for a couple years, and now finding myself missing my 4wd days(old 4runner). soooooo, found this site a while back, read through some conversions, and here i go! best thing about my benz is the motor. rest of the car is haggard. allready picked up a decent 92 cherokee, 4.0 is on a crate looking for new owner. The mercedes motor gets new gaskets/seals and timing chain. the plan is to go with bell adaptor plate, crank to flywheel adaptor, and modified oil pan from Koch enterprises. will have to do my own motor mounts and do ??? with steering/suspension. i'm hoping to keep it as stock as possible for starters.

has anyone done this swap ( om617 to cherokee ) more recently than member fte?
thanks,
smooth
