Default finally found her!

Hi, I'm new around here, although have posted before while searching for a truck, been a tech for years (half retired now from that)

I just picked up a '06 Dodge Laramie 3500 4d 4wd drw ctd, this is my 1st Diesel! she is loaded, even has the electric pedal adj, nav. and blue tooth to cell phone, (pretty neat, I didn't even know it had that till I got home from my trip) it has a leer topper with full side glass, it looks nice, it also came with a 5th wheel that was in his garage that slides into rails you mount in the bed. it looks to have been serviced at mostly dodge dealers and one oil change at a gm dealer.

she has a rebuilt trans about 5k miles ago with a hd TC installed (not sure what one I'll find out) It was done a large independant tranny shop here in Ga.

it is all stock, except for firestone rear airbags, never had aftermarket programmer or exhaust, owner said he did that once on his ford and would not do it again, (good for me, truck has been well taken care of!

anyhow it has 4:10 gears (which I really wanted taller gears for highway and the lighter loads I will be towing) but this will let me get the tires I desire without killing my low end power!, will go with a good AT tire, I usually run Michelins LTX AT2's on my half tons, but will look for something a bit more aggressive that can handle this truck.

I looked long and hard for a decent truck at a fair price, I really wanted a mega cab 6 speed, but they were either priced stupid, on the other coast, or beat to crap

anyhow I'm here, I like the truck, it drives nice looks fine all white and is in good shape,

I know thisis for other areas, so I will post those questions there! but these are my plans

I wouldn't mind more low power (under 2000 rpm), but am looking more for MPG, soto decide what programmer will do what I want best,

I would not mind a little more noise from the exhaust, I did drive one with a 5" straight exhaust and do not want to go that loud (it had the cat removed as well and no muffler)so I am looking at programmer and exhaust at the same time.

some other things I would like to do,

I want to do the high idle

I would like to hack the nav. so the passenger can use it while in motion

I would like to do a mod to run the fog lights will run with high beams on, probably with a relay wire harness so I will not overload the headlight circuit

I am thinking of the leveling kit, It needs ball joints very soon, I found those loose when we checked the brakes so I want to decide about leveling and do it all at once then get her aligned.

anyhow, I'm sure I'll think of other things as they pop into my mind and money permits

I do know, I think all the chrome trim may go white or black soon

thanks, I'm pretty happy with the find, the only thing that could had been better was a mega cab 6 speed that I would had cut and put a long bed on one day! but this truck will serve me quite well I'm sure, it was really cared for from the looks of it, and it being white is growin on me fast,

thanks, won't be able to do stacks on her, I need the topper for storage, I did see one with duals on it though which I liked, although not sure if it is worth the money for any mpg gain, I looked at a edge 970.00 ouch... not sure I can pull that off for a bit,

thanks for the info, it will be fun to toy with when time/cash permits,
