New to site
I live in California and pull and 38 foot, heavy as hell 5th wheel. My truck is a 2002 Ford F-350 long bed crew cab with duals and 410 gears. I kept the tires stock (except better tread.) I've pulled it across the states a few times with out much modifications. I did blow the turbo - one heck of an experience. After some months, my transmission gave up the top 2 gears. After a trans rebuild and a beefing up it has been almost trouble free for a long period. I have been running an Edge programmer for about 5 years, K&N air filter, and Magnaflow 4 inch turbo back. I have a few more mods to make as I plan on keeping this 7.3 for a long time.
When I first logged on to this site, I was looking for information on the "throttle position sensor". After reading about the issue on this site, I took it out and just put in back with out getting a new part and it seemed to get back to working right. Maybe down the line it may need to be changed.
Anyway, I'm an old guy and Vetnam vet, reading Diesel Power for years. I love diesels from the big ones to the smallest 1 cyl jobs. When it; comes to fuel use, I love electric, but getting distance from batteries my not happen in the near future. They use gas, when small diesel would work better. Finally VW has hit the right button with a 261 mpg electric/diesel.
Anyway, This is who I am and I look forward to getting more information that will keep my 7.3 pulling like a mule.
