Default new ford guy

i have a f250 02 with the 7.3

very upset with the new truck very bad mpg average 6mpg
no chips no programers has airstream exhaust and 285 17 16 tires

my first turbo diesel i have a f250 85 with a na 6.9l had forever
currently has 1million miles and runs like new

any help with the new 7.3 on why such bad fuel mileage
had ford look and nothing checked everything i can think of
and no luck at a loss and everyone i talk to is to

truck has the auto trans and only 136000 on it and it is 4x4

i would change both of the fuel filters first and clean the air filter.

i am actualy changing the filters everythousand just to see if there is any junk in them but they look new and it makes no diff but thanks for the the help

I honestly don't see why you would get such bad mileage. I drive mine like I have sense, try and time it so I don't get stopped at stop lights, and in town I'm getting 19-20 with NO mods. Not even a chip (yet.) I get about 25 on the highway going to Delaware, and coming back got 26. And that's calculating it by hand. Not using the lie-o-meter.
