Default You don't know what you don't know

I decided to build a 5.9 Thumper. So like normal I got alot of input. I have my own tool & machine shop so much of the tech stuff I'm comfortable with.
I started with and ATS trans stage 5 and a banks chip, boring right? Well I had a used 98 24 valve that I stole rods from & decided to build a thumper. That was 9 months ago I started. Little did I know how hard it is to get special parts. The bottom is 2003 Marine pistons coated, 1998 forged rods polished & high end bolts, lightened wrist pins, Colt cam, SPI damper, bored, balanced with a special one pc main bearing girdle I made. Add studs top & bottom. The top end is a fully remachined head for the Banks Big Hoss intake & intercooler, ported & polished, racing profile valve job, Hamilton push rods & springs, titanium retainers. To feed the beast I have a S483 with a 66/74/14 billet, 300hp sticks. I'm running twin CP3 pumps and a Fass delivery. The exaust is a 5" down split to dual 4" Magnaflows. Skins are MT325x 13.5 18 & Diamo 18" wheels. I fired it up, broke the came in then took it for a test...
So no one told me I needed a up graded flex plate and bolts. Five miles & the stock bolts backed out wedging the torque converter against the crank. Long story short I'm pulling it all out because I trashed the thrust bearing. Should have seen the filter. I guess you really don't know until pain becomes wisdom.
Keep ya posted in a few weeks. Looking forward to the dyno day.
