Default Hello from the Northwoods!

Hello,

My name is Matt Jorgensen. I've been a diesel nut for many years and as you can see, I have several of them. This is a good thing!

My first ever car was a Mercedes 300SD diesel, which was a rust bomb.. Fast forward and I got a 84 body from Tennessee and put my engine, tranny and interior from my old SD into my current one, which as I speak is hibernating for the winter.

Next, was my chevy. This half-ton 2wd diesel was bought new by my grandpa (Retired trucker, now not with us. ) in 95. 3 years ago my Grandma gave it to me as I was doing all the maintenance on it.

This March, I bought my 95 Dodge. I'd been wanting a cummins since I can't remember when. This truck has been a serious challenge, as it was not well cared for, but I'm getting it fixed up. My goal is to hit 500hp/1000 tq with it. I currently am running a VGT turbo on it and have my pump tweaked. Hope to have bigger injectors by winter's end.

And currently I'm finishing my latest diesel. The Oliver 1850 we have here on the farm blew yet another head gasket... The poor old Perkins was tired and needed a mountain of work, so i'm in the process of swapping a 5.9 Cummins from a 93 dodge into it. It's had all the industrial bits (Industrial fan, side oil fill, governed IP, water aftercooler, etc) and should be running around 174hp when done. A modest improvement from the 95hp N/A perkins. Them IH's at the fair pulls won't know what passed em. LOL Or maybe not.

I have been self-employed since Hi-school running my own computer repair business. In 08 my family moved from Southern Michigan to here in North-western Wisconsin. I've continued my computer business, and Opened a Diesel Performance / Welding & Repair shop in my heated shop here at the farm. I love working on diesels and making more power out of anything I can. I spent my Sunday afternoon tinkering on that tractor..

I've been a Member over at a particular forum that caters to cummins and I'm getting tired of the shenadigans over there. So I joined here as it appears you're a more friendly sort of folks over here. You'll prolly hear from me often, as I always consult the forums first when I run into something that stumps me. Many times, my fellow enthusiasts have a better idea of what's going on than the "pros" do. Which is why I don't call myself a pro. LOL

Well, thats my long-winded introduction.

Wisconsin. I like that state! I have reletives in Parkfalls, and some of my adopted family history is connected to Baraboo

Thanks for the Welcome. I'm still a member at the other place, not tryin' to bash. But I'm kinda getting tired of the politics and juvenile behavior that's going on.

I'll try and get some pics up soon enough.

I didn't see any bashing, your alright. You will see some juvenile behavior here also. It's hard to keep it completely out. Some people just thrive on stirring things up for attention.
