Default New to the diesel scene

Hi guys mine name is Ryan, and I'm all ears. I just bought an 01 3/4 ton with 250000 and a lot of extra goodies already retrofitted. had to put a new track bar on just so I could drive it home. already bought and installed steering stabilizer kit and track bar upgrade.bought fass lift pump, and had transmission rebuilt with upgrade torque converter and shift kit. It has a bighoss from previous owner and runs pretty good most of the time. couple weeks ago I hooked up a 16foot landscaping trailer to it and was quickly disappointed. it was a dog, my 05 hemi pulled better. so right now I'm just hanging out building up more cash to dump in to it but trying to go in the right direction. My father was a ASE certified master mechanic and specialized in diesels, but shortly passed away after a bought the truck, so kinda just looking for guidance. I absolutely love the truck and probably keep it forever. But anyway I have been back in forth with trying to figure this power issue out, thinking reflash ecm, get rid of banks have no clue. right now Im needing abs wheel sensors cause I think thats why my transmission is confused

Hope you have a fuel pressure gauge on that truck!
Have you checked for codes doing the key trick (on off on off on) and codes will be displayed in the odometer window.
Good luck!

ecm 237 pcm 1692 i think, So my understanding is 237 means not enough boost(banks)

1692 general problem code for tranny (shift kit)

There is a fuel pressure gage but its not working right just stays peg at 100 I have yet to track that down and figure whats up

thanks guys for the responses

ok maybe not 1692 ill have to go check again

This only works on 2000 and up I'm afraid...

P0237 (M) Map Sensor Voltage Too Low MAP sensor voltage input below the minimum acceptable
voltage.
P1692 Is similar to P1693, it just means there is a companion code in the ECM; so that doesn't really get us anywhere.
I am thinking the P0237 might be putting you in to limp mode...
