Default intro to another Newbie

Found the site, as I am looking to take my
2000 GMC sierra short box single cab VortecV6 and convert it over to a Mercedes Turbo diesel.

looking for tips pics and any helpful info

Owned a few diesels in the past never taken a conversion project to this magnitude before

little about myself:
Former 4x4 fabrication shop owner
former Indy car chassis builder (A-arms , radiator tanks, oil sump tanks, cause there is not much that is metal)
skilled (old school) fabricator <-- (hand hammering metal and forming by hand not by machine)
Novis machinist and master welder

Glad to be here!

I am realy interested to see how it goes. Please post lots of pics. I wonder if the Mer. engine got enough power to haul such a heavy body of that vehicle. Any update?
