Default New to truck and diesel

Hi there,
First time truck and diesel owner. I recently (six month ago) bought a 2006 Dodge Ram Megacab 5.9 l diesel. The previous owner had put in a few modifications:
- AFE Stage 2 cold air intake
- MBRP 4" exhaust with muffler and cat delete
- air bags, not sure about manufacturer
- 2" Revtek leveling kit
- colour matched coated fender flares(?)
- assorted chrome accessories

Looking to get as much info and knowledge about these trucks as possible. I am sort of mechanically minded and have gotten the thick service manual (pdf) for the truck. I have replaced all the fluids (oil, front and rear differential, transfer case and transmission) and the fuel filter. I had a shop replace the front tie rod ends.

The truck needs the track bar replaced along with the ball joints at some time in the future. The ball joints have some play measured in the middle of the proper range for allowed movements according to the mechanic. Probably looking at replacing and servicing the rear brakes and pads at some point in the near future myself. If I get really ambitious, I might try to tackle the ball joints next year.

The truck is not my daily driver. At this time I am only using it for hauling things to the dump and pulling a small 3000 lbs travel trailer. Looking to upgrade to a larger trailer or 5th wheel in the next year or so.

Thanks
Fred

Ball joints are somewhat problematic on the 3rd gen trucks...
