hey guys new to the site, just want to say hello. I curently do not have a diesel motor but hopefully with some of your help that will change.
I have a 1951 GMC cab over and want to convert it over to a Diesel so that I can use it as a tow rig for my toys. So if you have any ideas please let me know.......ie favorite motor/trans combo

thanks guys
glad to be on this site hope to learn something from all of ya

that IS AWESOME!!!

welcome to diesel bombers.

reasonable easy swaps? i'd suggest a cummins 4bt or 12V because they have no electronics, are very reliable and get decent fuel economy.

i would also suggest the older 6.9L and 7.3L international indirect-injection (IDI) diesel. they're also pretty reliable and and get decent economy. they're pretty cheap too because they're not all that popular.

that looks like it is going to be fun. Why not keep it in the family and go with a Duramax/Allison combo? Good luck and welcome to the Bombers

Cool truck man. I would go with a 12v Cummins. Shouldn't be too hard of a job.
