I am not a diesel owner as of yet. I do, how ever, enjoy the sports associated with the diesel world whether it drag racing, sled pulling, dynoing, et al. I do run some powerful diesel machinery. That being diesel electric locomotives, some with as much as 6,000 horsepower, weighing up to 216 tons. The locomotives are capable of generating 200,000 lbs. of starting effort and a continuos effort of 166,000 lbs. of effort at 10 mph. While not the most powerful diesels on the planet, we can move upwards of 3 million pounds of train at speeds up to 70 mph. While rarely trains that heavy move that fast, container trains regularly reach 10 to 12,000 feet and weigh in at 10,000 tons and travel that fast. I enjoy the diesel bombers videos on you tube and regularly check back to see if there are any new posting.
