Hi all,
Just starting to do mods to the truck I inherited from my Father. It is an early 2004 Ram 2500 Quadcab Longbed 4wd. My dad had it completely stock. When I picked it up, it had a bad smell...like a leaking heater core, but worse. It soon became clear. Transmission heat exchanger had died contaminating both cooling system and transmission. Repairs included a new trans built by LeftCoastDiesel with billet input shaft, goerend vb, goerent torque converter, new trans heat exchanger, new water pump, new heater core. While that was getting done found bad CV joints for front end. Replaced them, and rotors and front brakes and one bearing carrier.
It has been a few months now since all the work was completed. January will have several new mods. 4" downpipe back exhaust system from edelbrock will go in, along w/ 2005 4" downpipe and turbo elbow. Late 2nd generation intake airhorn is going in along with a gutted torque tube and modified airbox. Di Procol guage set is going in to keep track of transmission temp, boost and exhaust temp. I have a Diablosport Predator to go in with the improvements in intake/exhaust. I also added a 1989 Cascade 8 1/2 foot cabover camper, firestone airbags, and Rancho9000xl shocks.
