Unhappy 95 6.5 turbo

Having problem adjusting starter . Turns over for sec. then grinds what to do?

Check the starter drive. Should turn easy one way, then turn the armature the other. If it slips before it turns the armature, need a new starter drive. If it's good, need a new flexplate.

It's either the drive or the flexplate. Either way, gotta drop the starter.

What am i looking for when i drop the starter?

Where the arrow is pointing for the starter drive. On the flex plate, look at the teeth and make sure non of them are missing.
