Default New here

Hello, new here from South Central Indiana. My name is Randy. Currently own 02 cummins 4x4 w/4" straight, silencer gone, jessup powertuned, cracked up dash, bent front bumper, and an almost shot automatic (mash it and tach snaps, speedo crawls). Love my truck though, can't wait to get started making it more like Dodge should have. Just getting broke in at 210k, I've owned for about nine months.

Also have 06 jetta tdi dsg, bone stock for now...

Also 2000 wrangler 5-1/2 long arm, 1" body, arb front bumper, locked with manual lockouts up front, disconnects, old man shocks, rear tire carrier and heavy duty 2" receiver bumper, detriot locker in rear sitting on 35x12.5's with three bent steel rims so far, 456 gears, armor underneathe and all the way around, yada ya....fun toy. Needs new tires/rims and a light duty cummins v-8 transplant$$$.

2008 vrscdx night rod special, Vance and Hines Indy race pipe with race tuner anti locks brakes (thank God!) and some accesories. Blah blah... Another fun toy. Noo oil burning in store for this one,,, supercharger or turbo, supercharger or turbo, hmmm. May have to eventually sacrifce this or the jeep for the truck mods if wife gets to complaining.

Work at Cummins, have for a while. Have owned ford diesels and other VW oil burners but I'm excited by the potential of the 02 24v. Gotta baby it for a while though (no more stoplight to stoplights) till I settle on a transmission (looking for advice here, hint hint.). I gotto stay streetable and I tow my boat
long distances sometimes, it's about 8000#s. Occasionaly a 17000# trailer, not often though.

Anyway, enough about me.

Sounds like you have quite the fleet. Have to say I LOVE my Jetta as well, mine is a stick though. You need to get that Jetta chipped, you'll love the difference. That's where I stopped with it though...

Yeah, the tdi is a great car, my 2000 was a manual, regularly got 50mpg plus. The 06 is just a better car though and when it's time for intake clean I'll think about straight pipe, egr delete, rocketchip, timing belt, possibly camshaft (known issue with these). I'm thinking it should get close to 50, maybe not. Would be more of a treat to drive for sure. The dsg is smooth but the sport mode doesn't do anything for the diesel. So many projects, so little time and money.

I have the Rocketchip in it. It's an '06 as well; has about 95k on it now, will be doing the timing belt soon enough. Average about 38mpg in town and 45 or better on the highway. Absolutely love that car!
