I don't pretend to know anything about the Fords, but I'd take it in a heatbeat, whatever problems came with it. Sure can't be anymore then I have fought with in my Cummins. Only thing I'd be scared of is the payments. That is a totally cool lookin rig though.

The 6.4s have had fewer issues than their predecessor 6.0 - by FAR fewer. I have a 6.0 and haven't had any issue with it but there were alot that did.
A simple reprogram fixed the flaming tailpipe issue on the 6.4 and i haven't heard of many other major problems. They get poor fuel mileage though.

I've seen some Lances all tricked out with every option available and they cost almost as much as that truck! Very nice campers!

It's a Lance 1181 (06). Rides great with the Link Air Ride setup.

I wasn't aware of smogging it, but....who knows. This is California! "give:

why would u buy a 08 dont u know the problems they got and u gotta smog it

its a nice truck and all but your going to be spending way to much money on it just do you know

ill post the video if u havent seem them!
Please post the video (or a link to it)

I'd like to see it.

As for the 08, I bought it because the 07's were no longer in production, thicker side glass, better insulated, improved AC, improved heat, 320 amps w/ the dual alts, and basically because no one else made a pickup with over 11,500 lbs GVWR. I needed about 16k for the camper and trailer.

No need to explain why you bought the truck, there are problems with every brand truck every year. That is why they keep improving them. If I did not have a fleet account with GM I no doubt would have bought the New Ford. As long as you do not mess with exhaust you will not have to worry about the smog stuff.

The flame video has been out a while and that problem was rectified almost instantly with a simple re flash (as I remember it).

I still think you have a nice truck, and my opinion is the only one that counts .

I wish I could have gotten the flaming tailpipes as an option.
It would be neat to hit upfitter switch #4 and roast some marshmallows or the plastic side skirts of the hopped up Acura Integra in the next lane.
