Jarheads and squids, oh my!

Of course, fellow servicemen can hack on each other, but we'd never let a civilian hack on someone from a sister service...

Sister service - all others...

I never understood why, when I was a BMTS instructor, we called the male BMTS flights, when there was more than one, or a TI team shared two flights (platoons/companies), a "sister" flight...but when we had a female flight, it was a "brother" flight. Never made sense to me why we called the groups the opposite of what sex they actually were.

Please don't take that and run with it....I've heard all the Air Force jokes, you can't spring any new ones on me....besides, I graduated from 2nd Marine Division Scout/Sniper School in 1984...Yes, as an Air Force guy, and yes, there were many, many serious fights during my first few weeks there....

I got nothin against all the other branches of service, I just like a little friendly banter! "Up we go, into the wild, blue yonder..."

It's nice to see a diverse crowd here, even if all they did was provide a taxi service to "US" Marines. I flew on my fair share of Air Force birds, and spent entirely too much time in 24 MEU on the Iwo.
