Default Texas NOOB

Greetings Ya'll! Was searching info on '04 6.0L powerstroke and found your site. The first thread was informative, cut to the chase and not a lot of attitude BS! My truck went in to the shop today. Head gaskets gone in Nov ~95,000, now smokin' like a banshee and pulled all the water out of the recovery/supply bottle and dripping out the tailpipe. I bleed Ford Blue Blood,,,,,,even though my hotrods are GM, but this truck has about worn me out on problems! ever since it was new. I hope that maybe it's something like the EGR cooler that was indicated in the thread I was reading. Cheaper than head gaskets and dang, that is WAAAAY too short an interval for them to go again. Had a Superchips prog on before the blow out, but have not reinstalled since the hg replace. Frankly scared to even do anything with it now. It's unreliable and everything costs a fortune to do on it! Kind a long ramble for my intro I guess. Thanks ya'll for the info I've already gleaned and thought it was worth signing up to straight away. Hope I can contribute as well as learn!

Thanks!

Default EGR Cooler

Well, the votes are in! EGR cooler went. Replace cooler, service oil cooler, flush system, oil change................~$2700 smackers! Plus, I'm still out transportation until probably Friday...........still cheaper than head gasket job(at the dealership), even with EGR delete kit and cat-back exhaust system! Looking to order the Liberator Performance Delete kit unless I get steered another direction. I've been told the front end of the 6.0 exhaust is good and just do the cat-back, again unless I hear otherwise. I can't afford to just throw $$ at it, but I also have to make it work! I'll plan on using my Superchips program on economy setting initially, which at least takes some of the lag off the bottom end.

Thanks ya'll for the welcomes and any feedback!

Late,
CJ
