Smokin Out Cyclists?

I don't know why he'd come over here and do that.
I can't say I've got any respect for the guy as a cyclist or a diesel owner.
Personally, I'm a cyclist first and foremost, and a diesel owner second. Competitive cycling is my life. Even if I wasn't, I would never deliberately go out of my way to make clouds of smoke and wreak havoc upon the average joe who's just out for a run/ride/ or a drive.
You're right Doc, we did treat him well, but that's because most of the people on this site aren't those kind of idiots who disrespect other people like that. Most of us have enough sense not to want to smoke people out, and spandex clad guys on bikes or not, people are entitled to their own choices and I hope most people here can respect that. That's why DB kicks ***.

im one of them guys , i just have my truck because its cool , i dont tow anything ,
like in the muscle car days , did someone really need a 500 hp car ? for what purpose is that quality required ? none!
having the ability to pull a house off its foundation , then turn around and out run a "sports car" then lock it in and go off roading or plow threw the snow with my family when everyone else is in the ditches .....
yeah i have plenty of reasons for my truck and most all of them is not what it was intended for , but that dont mean anything . was the internet built for **** ? what somethings intended for has no baring on things , we take whats available to us and tweak it to what we want it for , that's life and its in every aspect of it

Interesting subject. I drive my diesel for a commuter, and I specifically drive for fuel economy. Normally I get 20-22mpg without a trailer, and with trailer, it's been a while but will see tomorrow. On the green subject, I don't see the need for me to buy a little bitty car to commute in and waste all that material, and manufacturing processes just so I can have a second vehicle. One is all I need. As for diesel emissions, it just depends on who you talk to. Sure we put out more particulate matter, but on the other hand, we put out less of all the other bad stuff. Not to mention my 7500# truck gets 20mpg vs a gas burner that gets 15 or less. How about a 454 Chevy! My dad has one of those dinosaurs, and it gets about 8 mpg if you drive like a granny.... Not to mention the 4mpg he gets towing.... For someone like me who needs to tow, carry payloads, and commute, I think it is a good compromise!

Bikefag,
I hope you post links from your blog to this thread, to show all of the people that had the same thoughts as you that they are wrong, yes our trucks smoke, yes they are sometimes to big for what we need, and yes i like to drink bud...but i dont smoke meth but generally the diesel community is a bunch of well behave power addicted people that just drive these vehicles for the pure power they are capable of producing...
I actually like what you did here trying to trick us because hopefully we have proved to one more person that diesel owners are not how you described us, much like the old image of harley owners as Hells Angels and the Paegens, thats def not the case anymore
