I disagree. The only dumb question is "How can I make my truck smoke?"

Anyways welcome to the site. If you want to gain the full benefit out of a lift it should be a suspension lift. And it should consist of new springs as opposed to an add-a-leaf. Believe me you'll enjoy it a lot more.

However, A body lift isn't bad for you. It's not as useful as a suspension lift but it will give you clearance for more things under the hood or tranny or tire clearance or whatever you happen to be doing. Or if you just want the look of a lifted truck without spending a bunch of money.

You'll have to think about the lengths of all your linkages and wiring to make sure they will be long enough. And make sure you do something about the bumper too. A big gap between the body and the bumper just looks gay.
