Default Hi all, new to Cummins (Dodge), prior Duramax (GM) owner...

Hi there, i just got into possesion a Dodge Ram 250 ram...

Financial crisis in Iceland has come to this, and since i am a dieselhead and want to go for something cheaper to mod, i went with a Cummins

It is originally a SRW, but has been converted into a dually

My plans are to have the bed removed and installing Parlok mud Guards;

Painting the frame Black and installing Stacks...

The truck now has a LA small block 360 in it but my intensions are to have a 12v Cummins w/ 5 speed manual installed in it...

A friend of mine has offered the Cummins to me for a small fee and i am pretty sure that i will swap it in. I'm not sure if it is the VE pump or the newer version, but i will keep you guys informed

Wich is easier to mod, the VE pump version or the one that came in the 1993-1998.5 trucks ?

How many HP can you squeeze from the Cummins 12v, and can the VE pump motor be upgraded to the newer pump with ease ?

Welcome.I think the p7100 pumps are easier to moddify and pull more power out of.With a 12v cummins i've seen hp as high as 1000hp.

welcome to diesel bombers. the p-7100 is deffinately the most easy and cheapest cummins to get power out of. it came in the 94-98 models. no matter which one it is, im sure you will be happy with your choice.

You definitely want the P Pump as stated earlier. Not sure on the specifics of the install however. I do know that there are kits available to P Pump the 24 valve trucks, so I doubt it's too involved...

Yeah, Iceland is cool..

It's actually starting to get hot here now. We're seeing temps around 13°c today.

what are the advantages of the P-pump on a 24valve?

I know that the injectors on the non-intercooled VE version are more buffed than the ones on the intercooled version, is the intercooled version perharps carrying the P-pump ?

I have a high flowing intercooler (RACING) built for my Duramax wich i intend to use.

How many psi are safe on the stock internals?

What is the weakest link and what precautins should i take for say 400rwhp. ARP studs & MLS gasket essential?

I'm not sure where to place my questioms, a moderator could perharps copy them to a valid place
