dpf regeneration
I have an 07 dodge 2500. The computer was recently updated by the dealership and I was wondering about the regeneration process. Today the message center said exhaust filter 80% full. It said regeration now, then regeneration in process. I thought it worked on its own, but then it went back to saying regeneration needed now. About ten minutes later it said 90% full. Is there something I need to do or does it all work on it own and will it still run fine if its continues to not regenerate? I drove the truck about 20 miles since the message came accross. All I know is I cant wait for the dpf delete kit. Thanks for all your help.

Yeah, They said one of the updates was the regeneration process. I drove it in fifth gear for about ten miles at 60 mph because I was told to drive it hard, again it started to regen, but went right back to saying regeneration required now. Very confused....

Drove the truck again today with the exhaust warning saying exhaust filter 100% full, see dealer. I was pulling about 13000 lbs. and then the exhaust got hot enough to try to regenerate again. I delivered the machine I was hauling and it stopped the regen process again, but I wondered if I could heat the exhaust up again, drove it in tow/haul mode 60 mph in 4th gear and it worked perfectly, I guess it is all good now and it only took about 10 minutes to complete. Thanks guys for all your help.
