Default New guy from NC...

Hey guys, figured i would introduce myself. I'm new to the diesel game (so new i don't even have one yet). My dad worked on Cat's for the first 18 years of my life right in the back yard (Davis Diesel if anybody is familiar), so needless to say I LOVE DIESELS. I am currently searching for a 12v cummins to tow my jeep to off-road areas, and to drive on the nasty days when doors are just plain nice to have.

As i mentioned above i have a jeep, she is a 97 TJ with a few mods here and there. i love to go off-road and have dumped a lot of money in my jeep and don't regret it at all. as of right now the specs are: 4.0, AX-15, NP-231, D44 front axle, Ford 8.8 rear with a Detroit, 4.88 gears, and 33x12.50R15 BFG mud-terrains.

Another hobby i have is Motorcycles, I have an 06 road king custom with a few goodies on it. So if anybody is in the area and wants to go for a ride, hit me up... i am always happy to go for a nice ride.

So... why did i join this forum? Well i have been lurking around cumminsforum lately and have accumulated a lot of good information, these 12v cummins look to be pretty simple and straight forward (I love mechanical motors). I actually followed a few links to this forum from cumminsforum, and every link i read i really enjoyed the content of it. Y'all seem to really know your stuff and I'm thirsting for knowledge. so there you have it... i hope to learn a lot from you guys, and maybe just maybe i can add to the information compilation some day.

Welcome to the DB family

Thats a nice looking jeep. Your story sounds a lot like the reason I got into diesels to tow my toyota and I got hooked.

Welcome Aboard! I live over in Leland - worked on the Ready Reserves Ships that were tied up next to the Cape Fear bridge from 96 til 04. Nice jeep you've got there. I've got a 79 CJ7 that I'm about 70% through restoring/upgrading - 6 inch spring over axle lift, 35" tires, newly intalled 4.2L engine and Webber carb, Painless wiring harness. I'm looking for a 4BT Cummins to throw in it instead.

I think you are looking at the right truck. I've owned all three manufacturer's diesels and saved the best for last. My 04 Cummins.

You've found a good site, a number of guys have helped me out on here with problems and suggestions.
