Diesel Illererate
Just poking around for solutions to my 2004 6.0 issue. Sounds like I'm not the first with coolant loss due to leaky headgasket or EGR cooler. Sounds like EGR cooler based on other 6.0 owners. I'll post in the tech section for EGR cooler repair/bypass options. I also have a 1994 Dodge 2500 with the old Cummins, had it since it was almost new and never had an issue with the engine - just electrical problems - and fellow owners had good fixes (mods) to eliminate those problems. Sounds like the Ford guys do as well. I'm pretty good with gas engines (I race heads-up 1/8 mile drag series with my 393 cid Small Block Chevy with a big dose of nitrous - requires frequent maintenance and repairs), and can read directions and take instruction well so I'm ready to dive into the ERG fix. I am fortunate to have 3 vehicles so I'm not forced to fix the Ford until I understand my options.
