Default Air Cleaner Problems

That little plastic part cost me an engine.
My Dodge 98 D3500 with factory air box had someone think they were smarter that the factory and removed the little part between the air box and the inner finder. I was driving through heavy rain and the water splashed through the gap between the hood and fender. It filled the air box and soaked the filter! Oh it washed all the dirt out of the filter and sucked it in the engine. In less than 100 miles it developed excessive blowby and has a weak cylinder.

A way to hide excessive engine blowby on your Cummins!
Most 5.9 Cuymmins have a vent made in the push rod cover. In 2003 they changed the block design and no more push rod cover. But some of the other application offered a vent that went in the hole where you torque the nut on the injector pump. By putting 2 vents you slow down the volume and the oil wont follow the blowby out of the engine.

The worlds best engine is the Cummns 5.9 with the Bosch Common Rail. There a few low cost trick that makes it run on VO like it does on #2 Diesel.

Just 2 complaint!
#1. If I drive it 15,000 miles before I change the oil I will need to add 1 quart.
But I don't!
#2. Fuel milage. I don't tell anyone I just let them look at the computer! Those Ford owners just turn green with envy! Suckers!

Next; The World's Ugliest Ford Ranger! ubtill you look under the hood.
