Default Uk, small fry.

Hello!!!

I'm in the UK (London) and i'm currently tuning my small diesel van!

At the moment she has a 1500cc turbo diesel engine but i will be exchanging it for a 1700cc turbo diesel engine over christmas. I'm going to be upping the boost, increasing the fueling (manual bosch pump) and fitting a front mount intercooler.
This should give me around 120-130bhp and 180lb/ft of torque. Now i know this isn't a lot to you guys but seeing as my van weighs 840kg (1852lb) I'm e4xpecting it to fly!

The van

and the FMIC

I'v recently brought Joe Pettitt's book on high-performance diesel engines, it looks fairly good, is it?
I'm looking into fitting propoane as well, i think i'll use 4 injectors positioned just in front of the inlet ports and an aftermarket programable ecu so as to map the amounts against rpm and throttle position.
Does anyone have any experience with this.

I look forward to getting to know you guys!

Welcome to DieselBombers Fridge!

Sounds like you have one heck of a good start Bombing that diesel!

For the propane, we have several members that have built custom setups. Begle1 has a custom computer controlled setup that you might be interested in.

See ya around the forums bud!

Thanks guys, am very excited to find this site as diesel tunning isn't done much here in the UK.

Benjamin, it's made by Vauxhall, a European manufacturere owned by GMC, and it's a Nova!

It weighs 1850lbs and by chritmas it should have 120bhp and 180lb/ft!!

Will keep you all posted!

Dan

Welcome! Keep us posted as to the progress. That much torque in that light package should be fun. Watch out for the torque steer.
