Default Introduction/First Post

Hello everyone, I am glad to join your group. My name is Larry (obvious, given my username) and I recently purchased my first diesel: a 1989 Chevy K1500 with the 6.2l detroit, and 700r4 transmission. I am having some issues with it idling rough and stalling during idle, and after hard take offs it will stall consistently until it is warm, then it only stalls on occasion. I am aware that I have an air leak somewhere, as I have a clear line on my injection pump near the front of the motor, however I have not investigated yet as I have been busy with school. Should be looking for it this weekend, or possibly tonight. I am unsure whether or not a air leak would effect the engine in the way I have described, so I figured I should probably try and figure out what exactly is wrong before I dump a bunch of money into it. My first thought was either fuel pump or fuel filter. Thanks for any help you can give me, it is much appreciated!
