Hi everyone, just joined the forum. Last week I picked up an 87 F350 4x4 crew cab (see my avatar) with plans of swapping a mechanical 12v Cummins into it. I originally thought I wanted a very mild motor, but after listening to the Diesel Performance Podcast, I'm kinda getting the itch to turn up the motor a bit. I'm thinking somewhere in the 400hp range, but I came here to do research and see if I need/should revise that number.

Plans for the truck are to drag around a slide-in camper and tow a car trailer, hopefully around the western US.
