Gotta start somewhere!
Hello, I'm brand spanking new, so be prepared for stupid questions!!
I have a 2001 International 4900 pickup (a poor man's CXT ).
It has a DT 466E, 195 hp engine, an automatic transmission (T handle shifter) and it's a bit of a turd! I'm not looking for any more speed, just power. Right now it tops out at 75mph flat to the floor and empty, it gets there fairly easily. Put a load behind it or a little hill, even unloaded, and it drops off quick.
I'm a bit of a bolt on performance kinda guy, I don't like having to get into the guts of the motor if I don't have to.
Other than a TS Performance chip/programmer it's bone stock.
Are there any turbos, pumps, injectors or anything else I can do to get close to 300hp?
Keep in mind, it's only a 10k lb truck so hopefully the **** trans won't be compromised too much. I pull a box trailer behind it occasionally, but it weighs less than 10k lbs fully loaded.
Any usefull help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!!
