Chevy guy with Cummins idea :P
Hi everyone!
I'm new here but I read this forum since many years. The reason too push me to sign in is because I never saw a Cummins swap in a dually Chevy C20 or C30 (4x6).
and here is my project. I have recently bough a dually 1990 D350 Cummins with 5 speeds manual transmission and I want put this drivetrain in my dually Chevy C30 1983.
I'm actually in the brain storming for idea. I project to start an subject in the engine conversion forum to show you my progress. But for now, I'm looking for information and advice to help me.
My C30 have an slow stock 6.2. Recently I have found 3 cracks in the engine block on the passager side. I have already do a lot of work on this truck on the drivetrain:
- New rear brake, drum, show, spring, parking cable, wheel cylinder, hoses
- New rear wheel bearing on both side
- New clutch, pressure plate, pilot bearing, release bearing
- New 6.5 swap starter
- New engine oil pan gasket to.
- New power steering pump with all new steering and hydro-boost brake hose
I refreshed transmission and diff oils, rework front brakes...
So, now I will go with a Cummins 12V and need advice from guys who do this swap before.
Let me know if it already have an subject here that can help me.
And don't worry about my english, I usually a French guy.
