New 300d Owner here!
While looking for a used vehicle for my son, I came upon a free 1987 300d. It was sitting in a yard just rotting away. The engine had been replaced at 300,000 miles due to a faulty oil pump by the previous owner. New battery, tires, turbo rebuild, glow plugs, air filter, tranny fluid change, oil change, evaporator core, fan blower, led guage lights, rheostat, tank filter, fuel filters, new fuses, etc. Runs good, but still has fuel issues after getting down to a half of a tank of diesel. Throttle sticks from time to time, not sure how to fix this problem. Odometer and tachometer was working, not anymore. Not so free anymore, but, hey it is running. Future plans are black paint, addressing the throttle, clean and seal the fuel tank, and new injectors. Also, I need another driver door possibly due to the previous owner dancing with a concrete pole at the local Walmart parking lot. This thing rides awesome on these crappy Louisiana roads, and is the perfect work mule.
