Default Need advice

Hey guys I have wanted a diesel foe the last 15 - 20 years now I am finally going for it. Need help deciding between 199-02 or 2006-07 cummins. This will be a daily driver weekend work horse, but I am old school hotrodder gonna have to play a little. Any help would be appreciated.

Addressing your question honestly for a dd, and weekend toy if you can afford it. buy a 3rd gen
Take that seriously from a guy that would not trade his 2nd gen for the world

There is a big controversy going on about smoke, there is a time and place for it, it's just the ignorant that think it is funny, they are giving the rest of us a bad name.

But third gens seem to be more turn key with fewer issues

Thanks just another diesel guy. I agree it's a serious matter about the smoke I don't think it's a laughing matter at all. Third gen is the 99 to 02 I think what about the 06 fourth gen? Thanks for your help and I will be changing my name.

!998.5-2002.5 is a second gen 24v with a VP44 Injection pump.
2002.5-2007.5 Is a Third Gen 24v with a CP3 High pressure common rail system
