Hi my name is Doug. Lived in Las Vegas since 1961. Was a diesel mechanic for 40 some years. I have a 85 Chevy dually I bought in 91 it came the 6.2 that had been turbo charged. I changed the turbo 400 out for a 700R 4 that was built to handle 450 ft. lb. of torque. I worked out well behind the 6.2. The 6.2 didn't last long thanks to somebody working on it that didn't know what the hell they were doing. In 95 I installed a Cummins in it, and changed the rear end gears from 4.56's to3.55's. The 700R 4 didn't do vary well behind the Cummins it didn't like 450 ft. lb. torque at 1600 R.P.M's. In 98 I beefed up a 4L80E an installed it with a TCI controller. It has worked out vary well so far. I have done all the work myself. Looking forward to finding some good info.
