I am a 61 year old widow , my late husbands 2001 dodge 2500 desiel truck is a good truck , I am trying to keep in good running condition , because I plan on wearing it out ! I am on a fixed income, so I have to try and figure out mechanical problem on my own! If I can fix it , then I will! That's why I registered to this web site to seek experienced advice to fix limited problems!

My 2001dodge 2500 diesels heat guage just stopped working ! It's not running hot. So I installed a new temp guage sending unit and it still don't work but the check engine light is now on! Can any one give me an educated diagnosis on what to do next, short of taking it to the dealer!,,
