Red face First Time Turbo Diesel Driver

I love my '07 2500 Dodge Ram Bighorn and wanted to have a place to go to ask questions. Recently had to have my truck towed to a dealer in Arizona while on vacation. Everyone in the Sedona RV park were shooting us dirty looks as the flatbad tow rig noisily winched my baby up on its backside, completely disrupting the quiet tranquility of their peaceful afternoon. Turned out to be a faulty computer module that they recommended replacing. Couldn't wait an extra week for the part to arrive so I settled for a reset and everythings just been peachy since. Now to the embarrasing part..... I used a diesel fuel additive a day and a half prior and may have added more than the recommended ounces per gallons of fuel.
Did I potentially bring that on myself??? (After consulting my owners manual, the light that came on was the emmisions icon.) With as series of key turns could I have reset my disabled vehicle myself? Just wondering.

Welcome to DB. I wouldn't think a little extra additive would put your truck on the hook. I know the newer emissions trucks are pretty sensitive but they're not that sensitive.

I'd guess the ECM was just having a bad day and decided to share it with you. Misery loves company.

Welcome and I would think the additive didn't hurt the truck. Most say on the back to use Double if needed. I just think it was dumb bad luck.

Kick yo boots off and stay awhile.

Like JC said, the extra additive wont cause an issue. You can dump a gallon of used motor oil in your tank and the ECM doesn't care. Modern computer system's like what we have on our trucks can get a little finicky at times.
