Default Hi!

Hey everyone,

I've been using this website for information for a couple years now, I figured it was time I join.

My name is Josh, I live in Central Oregon, and I have been a diesel freak for quite some time now. I used to own an excavation company, which of course led me to fall in love with the unbreakable Cummins B motors. I had a total of 8 machines that were B-powered, most of them Case. I abused the hell out of them, never serviced them when I was supposed to, and did things with them that probably required a large crane or some kind of explosive, but the worst problem I ever had with those machines was when one of them had a turbo bearing seize. When you're talking excavation and digging volcanic ash 14 hours a day, things like alternators, starters and water pumps don't count as issues, it's more like scheduled monthly maintenance. I loved the fact that if my machine crapped a water pump, I could go yank the one off of my dodge and get back to work without making a trip to town. Well, the years have passed, the excavation company is gone due to the housing market crash, and I have since gone on to be a tech at a Ford dealership (which had the side effect of becoming allergic to 6.0 powerstrokes). I worked at Ford for a while, then at a plumbing and heating supply wholesaler, and now I'm pretty much a stay at home dad due to my daughter having an immune system issue.

As for my diesels and diesel projects, I currently have a 90 Dodge w250 LE CTD std. cab, 727 auto that just recently pooped the tranny. Again, with all the abuse its had, not surprising. I just recently sold (dumb) my 01 CTD 4x4, QC, long bed, auto, LSD, 6" lift, overloads, track bars, Edge comp box, 3 piece pulse flow manifold, magnaflow exhaust, modified AFE cold air setup sourced from a ford 6.0, massive warn bumper up front, 12000 warn winch, 5" piaa's, reunel bumper in the rear, gauges everywhere, more stuff I'm forgetting I'm sure. My current project is a lifted 01 Dodge Dakota QC, It's gonna get a dana 44 up front very soon, and then eventually a OM603 Mercedes diesel, It currently has the 4.7 gas-hog-o-matic (It gets a consistent 9 mpg, my old 95 dakota 318 got 22.) My other long term project is a short frame 65 Chevy C60 that's going to get a B5.9 and get set up as a 5th wheel puller.
