So, I made the mistake....6.0 comes out, I run to get it, a nice crew cab dually king ranch. I get smacked (out of warranty on time) with the dreaded egr/oil cooler fiasco. The rig has since been removed from my life. I'm moving into a Cummins. Ive played around with the Hemi, an H2, a Harley and now I just want my diesel back. I am a diesel technician in NC, I work for Caterpillar. Yes, USMC is for the Corps. Diesel is for, you guessed it, diesel, which is also my dogs name. I love all things diesel, the smell, the feel, the taste.... power, that's what it is to me. I got lucky with my wife. She, too, loves all things diesel. The bigger, louder, meaner the truck...the happier she is.

I'm here to look around, gather some info. I am stumped at present trying to make the decision of whether or not to stay pre-2007.5 with the 5.9 I6, or take my chances with the new (horrid emissions) 6.7 that collects so much soot, it no wonder there aren't more of them sitting on blocks. I'd do the deletes if I went 6.7, but there's a bunch of tree hugging yuppies running around complaining about the dwindling numbers of the endangered horny toad frog daffodil winged Hungarian **** roach that's native to that tiny little island that sits way out in the middle of nowhere that nobody has found yet. So the rest of us pay $4 a gallon for fuel and get 8 miles to the gallon to appease those kinds of people. I am not sure about NC regs in regards to new diesel inspections (safety only last I had it done), so I've got to check it out. Hopefully, I'll find it here.

Looks like an interesting place. A little less PC than most others.

I'd go with the 5.9L pre 6.7, I love mine.
