Default Young and Stupid, but doing my best

Bought my 93 Cummins d250 this past summer for $500 from a guy who let me live in a room attached to his barn while i was doing my internship. He thought i was going to scrap it and take the motor, but I just couldn't see scrapping a good truck

Here's a few things about the truck:
-Front rotor busted in half and cracked the caliper
-Brake lines all rotted
-One ball joint shot
-Floor panel pretty much gone
-Dents everywhere
-Front bumper bent way up
-Tailgate hinges rotted off
-Speedometer not working (154K miles)
-Interior was disgusting
-Radiator leaking
-Driver door sags and barely closes

What I did right away:
-Replaced all front brake hardware
-Replaced all brake lines
-Bought a roll of paper towel, some Green Clean, and starting cleaning the inside
-Popped out the dents with a 2"x4" and a sledge (precision)
-Removed bottom 3 rows from radiator, soldered holes shut

Truck had to make a 2 hour trip to my brothers, load his stuff up, then make another 2 hour trip North to our home. Started the trip around 2pm Friday afternoon, made it 10 miles to the fuel station. Looked under the truck to check things out and the radiator started leaking. Great start to a trip. So I got fuel and then went to get some food while the truck sat and cooled down. Came back to the truck, popped the radiator cap and dumped in a $2 tube of Aluma-seal (looks like salt n pepper). Fired her up and watched for a few minutes, leak was gone. I don't ever like the thought of using that kind of stuff but I was desperate.

So away I go on my trip. Can't tell how fast i'm going but its a nice day, my power window still goes down, so i'm just gonna cruise and enjoy the ride (minus the whole truck shaking from a busted belt in my front tire)

Regardless, I made it to my brothers and all the way home around 11pm. Only had one other incident with hitting a beehive somebody left lying on the white line of the road. They must have lost it off the back of their trailer or something and decided to leave it. So here I come with my new dodge and smoke it with my passenger side fender, blew that thing to pieces. Turned around to go see what it was so no one else would hit it, my brother goes to walk up to it and runs away screaming...BEES!! THERES BEES!!...Never laughed so hard in my life. Thats when we figured out that it was a beehive from somebody's honey farm. What's the chances of something like that happening? Yeah, well it just added to the excitement of my trip.

What else I've done so far to the truck:
-Swapped rear ends (96 3/4 ton with 3.54 and limited slip)
-Added an aluminum tool box in the bed
-Used some steel rod to make new hinges for the tail gate
-Changed the door bushings
-Did the Killer Dowel Pin fix
-Changed all the fluids and filters
-Overfilled my Getrag with oil
-Got some new Firestone tires
-Changed the u-joints
-Changed the bad ball joint
-Replaced the steering gear box, built a new hybrid steering shaft, changed the lines

What needs to be done:
-Clean up the frame
-Replace some of the rusty body panels (firstly the drivers floor panel)
-Change the radio and speakers to something modern
-Install a fifth wheel plate
-Get the electric brakes hooked up

The truck has to make about a 700 mile trip to Murfreesboro TN this summer for another internship. I plan to haul a fifth wheel trailer with my girlfriends car, my Harley, and our belongings. I look forward to keeping everybody posted on future projects and its trip to Tennessee.

Thanks everybody, hope you enjoyed the read.
