I am 67 yr old senior, selling Dodges when Cummins 6.9 debuted in the trucks. I bought a trade in 91 w/o OD & NterCooler and 59K miles. Sold with 545K on odo. Bought 91.5 WITH O/D & Cooler showing 90K on odo. Bought 1st one in 1995, 2nd in 2003. These trucks were for transport/hauling, and my youngest son & I did rods, customs & whatever. My 5th wheel blade failed and my body is trashed but driveable. I have a 1954 Chev 1 ton 5 window C&C, and just decided that I will put the 5.9 in the Chev, using later model 1 ton GM front frame clip.
Looking for similar swaps. I have seen 5.9 in 1937 Chev PU flatbed. This guy used the Dodge frame, mounting the '37 cab onto the Dodge frame. I believe the GM FE is much better thabn the 1st Gen Dodge.
I am not too proud to listen & learn from someone else's mistakes. .
Seriously, all comments or suggestions are welcome.
Glad I found you, looking forward to getting to know you better.
